Luego de la primera fase de Moravia Video Lab, nuestro colectivo de chicas del barrio ha sido invitado a participar en la convocatoria para el festival “Un Minuto al Natural” del Parque Explora.
Para atender esta invitación, hemos realizado una serie de actividades con el propósito de que el grupo mismo se encargue de la decisión de los temas a tratar, además de las características técnicas que tendrá el material que se presente a la convocatoria.
Inicialmente, el viernes 18 de noviembre, discutimos con las chicas sobre los lugares, las situaciones o movimientos del barrio que serán el eje temático del filminuto. La semana siguiente, proyectamos una serie de documentales de diferentes estilos: poético, informativo, ambiental, ficticio, etc.
Luego de esta muestra, cada participante tuvo la tarea de proponer ideas/temas para tratar en el documental. Algunas de las más interesantes fueron:
- ¿Cómo hacer que no se siga contaminando la quebrada del barrio?
- Hacer una huerta en el barrio
- El lugar favorito de mi casa: la cocina
- Historias de terror contadas por los ancianos del barrio
- Las estrellas: historias, relatos populares, mitos, etc.
- Mujeres madres solteras
A la hora de discutir sobre los temas, se abordan aspectos técnicos tales como los ángulos, los enfoques, la investigación previa, la iluminación, las secuencias, la modalidad del film, entre otros temas.
Se definieron los días miércoles y jueves para realizar el filminuto, para cumplir con el plazo que exige la convocatoria.
Paralelamente, las chicas están empezando a interesarse en registrar diversos eventos del barrio. Próximamente se planea registrar el desalojo de un grupo de familias de El Morro, y el evento “Días de Moravia”.

In order to follow this invitation, we carried out activities for the group itself to decide the themes to be developed, as well as the technical features of the material that would be presented to the call.
Initially, on Friday 18th of November, we discussed with the girls about places, situations or movements of the neighborhood that will be the thematic axis of the ‘filminute’. The following week we projected a series of documentaries: poetic, informative, environmental, fiction, etc.
After this screening, each participant had, as homework, to propose ideas/themes for the documentary. Some of the most interesting proposals were:
How to avoid the stream that crosses the neighborhood to keep being contaminated?
- To create a garden/farm in Moravia
- My favorite place at home: the kitchen
- Horror stories to be tell by the elder community
- The stars: stories, popular storytelling, myths, etc.
- Females head of household
When it came to discuss about each topic, the girls also chatted about technical aspects such as angles, focus, approach, previous research, illumination, sequences, interviews, among other aspects. Wednesday and Thursday were defined as days to produce the ‘filminute’, in order to be in time for the closure of the call.
In the meantime, the girls are starting to be interested on record events of the neighborhood. Coming soon they are planing to record the eviction of a group of families that still lives in El Morro, and the event “Días de Moravia”.
